FALL TRENDS I CAN GET BEHIND.

We’re almost a month into fall and our Hot Girl Summers are way past expired so you know what that means... #FlyGirlFall is in motion. Fall is my absolute favorite season for fashion, and if you’re anything like me you’ve already planned out a few looks or pieces you’ll be going after.

There’s always tons of trends with any new season, but my style advice is to only go for what compliments your aesthetic. These 6 trends are some of my personal favs and the ones that I will be incorporating into my own wardrobe.

Get in losers, we’re going shopping.

THE COLOR OF THE SEASON: PISTACHIO

...Or should I say hue? Greens and Blues will be my go tos and I can’t wait to create a monochrome look with this trend. My favorite of all is teal in particular. I think this color is refreshing to the typical neutral fall color palette and wakes us up from the mustards, burgundys, and oranges. I mean...did Rih not have us all gagging last month?

LEATHER ON LEATHER

I LOVE a nice, creamy, quality leather material and think that pairing the two together could create a bomb ensemble. I will say though, that this one may not be for everyone, but if you’re daring enough and do it just right, the fit will definitely hit. In my opinion, this trend works best when you have pieces of the same or similar material. Mix it up by opting for cream and brown leathers instead of the typical black look.

UTILITY

This trend makes workwear fashion, and I have no choice but to stan. It’s probably my favorite, because I love rugged/industrial details and that’s what utility is all about. My favorite rendition of this trend is the utility jumper because of how effortless it is. Dress it up with heels and boots or go for a more relaxed look with sneakers.

JEWEL TONES

As I mentioned before, it’s time to shake our neutral color palette up and add some new hues. Jewel tones make the perfect statement and aren’t too bright to be considered in your fall wardrobe. Think ruby, sapphire, gold, athemyst, and emerald. These colors on satin fabrics look like pure luxury. Tailor them to your liking by choosing colors that complement your skin tone.

PRINTS

The classics are back — plaid, polka dots, cheetah print — and so are more funky patterns like cow print. As we all know, nothing under the sun is new, and fashion archives will prove this to be true for cow prints as well. There has, however, been a reemergence of this pattern and I like what I see.

OFF WHITE

Everyone says no white after Labor Day, but I say do what you want. There are no rules in fashion. I love a winter white look when it’s done the right way. If you don’t want to “wear” white per se — opt for white shoes and accessories instead.
